Mega Mango embarked on their musical journey in 2018 with the release of "You Spent All Your Love," a defining indie rock anthem that catapulted them into the spotlight. Vocalist Crow Costello (they/them), guitarist Alex Spagnolia (he/him), bassist Niko Jones (he/him), and drummer Sam Poll (he/him) persevered through the challenges of young adulthood and a pandemic-induced hiatus, giving birth to the distinctive "Phruitcore" sound—a fusion of indie bedroom rock enriched with intensified bass, drums, and warmer tones. Their resilience is evident in the latest release, the "You Spent All Your Love (Anniversary Edition)" single, a testament to their evolution and creativity.

Beyond the music, Mega Mango has made waves in the industry, garnering features in multiple blogs, magazines, interviews, and radio broadcasts. Their strategic marketing efforts have cultivated a significant online presence, amassing over 36,000 followers on TikTok and 9,000+ on Instagram, along with strong followings on YouTube, Bandsintown, Twitter, and Facebook. Notable achievements include two live sessions with Audiotree in Chicago and Sagehouse Live in Florida, opening for acts like DURRY, COIN, Your Neighbors, and collaborations with the University of Delaware's MelUDees on "You Spent All Your Love - Choir Version."

As Mega Mango celebrates their 5-year anniversary, they continue to break new ground. With an upcoming fall 2023 tour alongside DURRY, playing 11 shows across the East Coast, and the release of "Space Kids" on October 17—an anthem originally written during the Hit the Dirt era in 2019—the band is poised for a new era of music. Their journey is further enriched by features in PLEASER Magazine alongside Annie DiRusso and Briston Maroney, as well as the anticipation of a new album in 2024. Mega Mango's 12-month Spotify statistics, rounding up to 650,000 listeners, 5.5 million streams, 288,000 playlist adds, and a dedicated following of almost 17,000, reflects the growing influence and exciting chapters awaiting them.

Philadelphia, August 15, 2023 – Mega Mango, the dynamic indie rock sensation that captured hearts with their breakout single "You Spent All Your Love" in 2018, is thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of the "You Spent All Your Love (Anniversary Edition)" single. This musical milestone marks the band's triumphant journey of five years since their inception and stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to innovation and growth.

The original release of "You Spent All Your Love" resonated deeply within the indie rock community, propelling Mega Mango onto the musical map. As they navigated the complexities of young adulthood, compounded by the challenges of a global pandemic, the band found themselves on an unexpected hiatus, dispersed across the nation.

In the midst of this turbulent period, vocalist Crow Costello (they/them) and guitarist Alex Spagnolia (he/him) persisted with a creative spark in Philadelphia. Through diligent effort and boundless passion, they birthed a fresh and invigorating musical direction they aptly named "Phruitcore." This unique sound marries the intimacy of indie bedroom rock with powerful bass lines, electrifying drums, and a rich, enveloping tonal palette.

In 2021, Mega Mango made their triumphant return with the release of "Boggle," a track that unveiled their revitalized sonic identity. The reunion was further enriched by the return of original bassist Niko Jones (he/him) and the inclusion of drummer Sam Poll (he/him), a fervent fan of the band. The momentum carried into a series of releases, including "Sorry!" and "Risk," culminating in the evocative single "Blurt." This song ingeniously weaves the bittersweet threads of nostalgia and growth through a tapestry of cherished board-game references.

Now, standing at the crossroads of their five-year journey, Mega Mango proudly presents the "You Spent All Your Love (Anniversary Edition)" single. Collaborating with Audiotree, the band channeled their evolving essence into a captivating live session that captures the essence of their Phruitcore sound. This release is a precursor to an exciting three-song single set to debut on September 12. The collection includes the electrifying "Anniversary Edition," an intimate acoustic interpretation, and a one-of-a-kind choir-infused version featuring the MelUDees A Capella from the University of Delaware.

  • FOR RELEASE ON 3/19/2023

Nashville, TN - Mega Mango, the electrifying indie rock band from Philadelphia, has announced that they will be performing in drag for their show at The East Room in Nashville on March 30th, in protest of Tennessee's recent law banning public appearances of drag shows. The band, who are currently on a 35-show North American tour, plans to use their platform to make a powerful statement in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

According to reports, Tennessee's new law was quietly amended in January to take effect on April 1st, ahead of Pride month in June. This has caused widespread outrage among the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, who view the legislation as discriminatory and an attack on their civil rights. In response, Mega Mango has pledged to coordinate with their support acts for their Nashville show to make a bold statement of solidarity and resistance.

"As artists, we believe in using our platform to make a difference and stand up for what's right," said the band's lead singer. "This law is an affront to the LGBTQ+ community and we refuse to be silent about it. We stand with our friends, and fellow musicians who are affected by this unjust legislation, and we will do everything in our power to fight against it."

Mega Mango's show at The East Room promises to be a night of unforgettable music, vibrant visuals, and a powerful political statement. The band's commitment to inclusivity and equality has always been a hallmark of their music, and this show is no exception. Tickets for the show are on sale now and are expected to sell out quickly.
